The mockbuster Monster Island 2019 by The Asylum was released ironically around the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island. A monster might be discovered there, and who may be kind of the island, the Monster Island.


Because this movie is about an asylum, it has about the same budget as a big kid's dinner. The film uses that money carefully to focus on human characters and keep its big stars on one set. This allows them to shoot all of their sequences during lunch breaks. We must not forget that this movie is about kaiju and that (first post) is how they do, so perhaps The Asylum won’t be as bad.
